An Explanation.Hello my name is Koena Yasunaga and I am a high school senior at Kihei Charter school, and I believe myself to be a firm advocate for the bettering of our high school youth’s lifestyle; This is why I have decided to recommend art to my peers and underclassmen as an alternative hobby to pick up instead of more common yet more detrimental hobbies such as gaming and social media.
My project is a short set of tutorial videos explaining the basics of art, these basics roughly cover the seven fundamentals of art in a way that is easy and simple to understand. To complete this project I had to make scripts, edit videos, and create time-lapses over a period of one entire school year; And to be honest it wasn’t the revolutionary videos I had hoped for it to be. There were many rough experiences and some rather disheartening moments throughout this project but in the end, this project has helped me grow more as an adult than I could have ever anticipated. Throughout this project my life became more organized and scheduled than it had ever been in my life, I was waking up at a consistent time and focusing on schoolwork when my alarm said I needed to; My body didn’t feel like it was in a constant cycle of torture, I was becoming healthier in my social, mental, and physical welfare. All these things happening with the encouragement and guidance from my mentor, my family, and my friends was an amazing experience to have as a student. Audio: |

21st Century Skills
The 21st Century skills that I utilized the most in this project would definitely be, communication, interpersonal, and self-directional skills. Without being able to effectively communicate ideas through my videos, being able to actively reach out to the connections I have in the art community and my own personal community, and the organizational skills that I utilized this year to keep me on track; I would have definitely struggled a lot more in this project.
